The Sahara and Sahel Observatory pays a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Equatorial Guinea in Tunis

Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra, Executive Secretary of the OSS, and Mr. Abdel Kader Dodo, Coordinator of the Water Department, paid a courtesy call this morning on H.E. Mrs. Nsang Ndong Nsuga GERTRUDIS, Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea and Dean of the Group of African Ambassadors in Tunisia.

The meeting, a prelude to preparations for the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Sahara and Sahel Observatory in September, was attended by H.E. Mr. Moussa SY, Ambassador of Mali to Tunis. It provided an opportunity to clarify the status of the OSS, and to review its areas of intervention on the African continent, in the light of the country's climatic and environmental priorities.

The inauguration ceremony for the OSS offices, built on land graciously made available by Tunisia, is scheduled to be attended by representatives of the diplomatic community of member countries. As well as marking the installation of the teams in their new premises, the ceremony will serve as a reminder of the importance of the issues and challenges facing the continent, the possible solutions to address them, and the role of OSS in this dynamic.
