The Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) is participating in the 21st session of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (CRIC 21), scheduled to take place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from November 13 to 17, 2023. The primary objective of this event is to assess the implementation of the UNCCD according to the strategic objectives from 2018 to 2030, with specific recommendations.
During this session, the OSS will amplify its advocacy for land restoration by organizing a parallel event titled "Land Degradation Neutrality: Implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation and Advocacy."
This event will underscore the crucial importance of Earth observation data in monitoring land degradation. We will also highlight the central role of the OSS in implementing transformative projects, contributing to assisting countries in achieving their restoration goals.
The OSS will also participate in partner side events, shedding light on topics such as agroecology, integrated land use planning, and the use of geospatial data to achieve Land Degradation Neutrality.
Join us in exploring innovative solutions and encouraging action for Land Degradation Neutrality. Together, we will contribute to shaping sustainable solutions for a resilient future.
